FirstIy, I would love to thank all my gorgeous friends who have been very positive about my foray into the blog-o-sphere world...what a buzz it has been!
Talking about friends, I have been extremely fortunate in that they are a very eclectic group with amazing talents, such as my wonderful friend Naomi who is an amazing cake decorator. She has won several prizes at the Melbourne Show, which proves that I am unbiased as, obviously, the judges thought she was pretty talented as well!
Over the last couple of years, we get together in her "studio" and can spend long afternoons making sugar paste flowers. (They go fantastic with bubbly...)
Below are my humble attempts at this art.
I made this display a few years ago. Unfortunately, it had a whoopsy moment and a few petals and leaves got broken....Naomi helped me put Humpty-Dumpty together again. Well, I did have to re-make a few new petals, but you can hardly tell which ones!
And voila! All better now!
This arrangement took me a year's worth of classes to make. It then sat in a box at Naomi's for about 2 years while I pondered how best to display it.
Well, you just can't rush these things!
And, finally this October, it was all finished! I can't believe I made it... Thanks Naomi!
